Core Banking & Payments / Digital Banking

The challenge

The bank needed a stable development team to guarantee quality and continuity on its digital channels, in a market with fierce competition for tech talent.

The solution

We put together a cross-disciplinary team of full stack developers and SAP specialists, working under agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. We designed, built, and rolled out new microservices, and provided enhancements support for business-critical applications.

The technology solution was built on Java Spring Boot, OpenShift, Kafka, and Grafana, integrated with the SAP Banking, SAP Payment Engine, and SAP FPSL ecosystem. Alongside this, through our training and professional development model, we built a stable, highly specialized team, shielding the bank's critical systems from the impact of attrition.

Results

  • Deployment of more than 50 microservices in production for the Payments, Accounts, Investments, and Loans verticals.

  • Cut time-to-production from 12 to 3 weeks by adopting agile methodologies and deployment automation, a 75% improvement.

  • A stable team: attrition held under 10% annually, in a market where attrition for development roles runs several times higher.

  • Built a dedicated SAP Payment Engine specialist team within the bank's delivery organization.

  • Implemented proactive monitoring and observability capabilities across mission-critical core applications.

  • Increased stability, scalability, and pace of functional evolution for the bank's digital platforms.
